A quick look (Byakuya)

Shiko was doing rounds around the Barrack's to see if there was anything he could help with he found himself in the 6th Division Barrack's he didn't know many people here but he hoped he wasn't going to get yelled at. He wasn't wearing his captains jacket he was only wearing his white kimono. He looked around and saw most things were alright maybe he didn't need to come here he knew the Captain was rather strict. So he knew the subordinates did what ever he said of them to do. Shiko kept his cold expression as usual he didn't want to seem happy because that he was hoping to walk into Byakuya.

The sun shone brightly in the blue sky as Byakua walked into his division. What a beautiful day. Not the kind of day you want to spend inside doing paperwork, but Byakuya had no choice. Well, he did have a choice actually, but not if he wanted to get his paperwork in early. He always got it in early because he didn't want the division to look lazy. Or course getting it in the day it was due wouldn't look lazy, but still.... Byakuya didn't want to take any chances of getting it late. What if he put it off for a few days, and was going to do it the day before it was due, and some obstacle came up? Or what if he left it lying around and someone spilled something on it? Hardly anyone but him was allowed to be in his office, but he still wasn't going to take any chances.

Byakuya opened the office door and stepped inside. It was a big room, spotless of course (Byakuya would never dream of having a messy office) with two desks, two leather chairs, some filing cabinets, and not much else. Byakuya didn't believe in clutter, and it was easier to work when there wasn't much around to distract him. He sat down at his desk and opened a drawer. Pulling out a pen and some ink he began to write, quickly but carefully. It was the monthly report on his division.

Shiko saw the Captain of squad 6 walk into his office. He wanted to go pay the Captain of visit but he didn't want to bother the probably busy Captain. But he knew if he delayed any longer he might walk in and mess Byakuya up. So he gracefully walked over to the door trying not to make a scene. As he stood if front of the door he was in shock he had never seen the famous Byakuya's office before. He was so eager Byakuya probably kept it very clean he thought since he figured Byakuya was a clean kept guy. With a little sigh Shiko knocked on the door hoping to be let in Shiko couldn't help but blush at the thought of going into the office.

Byakuya began to write carefully but quickly, and soon the page was covered with neat script.

The sixth division has been working on improving their Kido, and so far they have done an exceptional job. Nearly every night one squad member has been in the Human World to keep an eye out for the killer that has been going around. There have been no problems, and each member has been staying in their place. There are no complaints.

There, done. Carefully, Byakuya set the paper aside to dry and capped his ink, opening a desk draw and setting it neatly inside along with the quill. He was just about to start to organize his other papers, when there came a knock on the door.

"Come in," Byakuya said, frowning slightly. Who could it be on such a beautiful day?

Byakuya watched as the door was slowly opened and the fourth division captain entered, looking rather timid. Well, that wasn't anything new, Byakuya thought the fourth division captain always looked timid. It would look better if he got some confidence.

"You are not bothering me," Byakuya told his fellow captain, nodding to the other in respect. "I have just finished my paperwork for the day, so I have some free time now."

Byakuya gestured to a chair opposite his desk that was there for his division members when they needed to ask him about something. 'Won't you take a seat? Shall I send for tea?"

Byakuya raised an eyebrow at the other captain but didn't say anything. The members of the fourth division always seemed to be so selfless and shy that sometimes Byakuya didn't know how to act around them if he didn't want to embarrass them or anything. "That is fine then," Byakuya replied, shifting a bit in his chair. The silence was getting to him.

"Was there... something you needed?" the sixth division captain finally asked, meeting Shiko's eyes. To his surprise he saw that the other's face was bright red. "Are you all right? Your face is rather flushed. Might you have a fever, perhaps?"

Byakuya raied one perfect eyebrow when the other captain said he was fine. He certainly didn't look fine. The next words spoken startled him even more. Shiko wanted to go for a walk? With him? No one ever really asked him to go places with them. Most actually avoided it! No one wanted to be around someone as strict as him. Not to mention he really wasn't very social and was usually seen alone instead of with other people.

"I suppose," Byakuya said after a long moment of silence. It wouldn't hurt to get some sunshine. And after all, it was a beautiful day.

"Come." With that, Byakuya got up from his seat, and, after making sure his papers were still in perfect order, headed for the door. Hearing something that sounded like muttering from behind him, he turned back and looked at Shiko. "Did you say something?"
